Chef Rob Starr’s new restaurant, Haywood Common, offers rustic, seasonally rotating dishes sourced almost exclusively from small, nearby farms. His New American fare is a vast mix of cultural inspirations and comfort foods. Rob was born in Ohio and has spent the greater part of his adult life in New Mexico and California. Along with his interest in South East Asian and Mediterranean cuisine, he has developed a unique style of flavor fusions. All of his dishes pay careful attention to balancing savory, salty, sweet and sour combinations and are assertively seasoned. He is not afraid to push the boundaries but has always stayed true to making his dishes recognizable and close to home.
