Chef Christian Albrecht: In 2016 Christian moved to Asheville with his family seeking adventure and a new story with his food. He started working in kitchens in 2008 moving from family owned restaurants, cafes, corporate kitchens, fine dining, and pop up restaurants, getting the most variety of experiences he could. years. When he landed in Asheville, Christian was presented with a Demi Chef position at the The Bistro, a restaurant at the Biltmore Estate where he continued cooking and honing his leadership skills. After some time, he saw an opportunity at The Admiral in West Asheville and immediately took the position. Christian started as a line cook working on every station under Chef Justin Burdett ( current Executive Chef of Crooks Corner in Chapel Hill, NC) and ended his time l as Sous Chef under Chef Richard Neal. His time with Chef Richard at the Admiral taught him the importance of food here and now, the idea of what is happening, growing, and alive in our region and the current season at this very moment (terroir). Richard is intentional about native foraged and farmed sourced ingredients and left an important mark on Christian as to how he sees food and how he will pursue food as he continues his path. Christian is now Head Chef and food operations manager of 12 Bones BBQ Smokehouse in the River Arts District and is excited to work alongside head brewer Scott Hettig at the new 12 Bones Brewing Co. collaborating on food and beer pairings.
