Bill Smith was head chef at Crook's Corner in Chapel Hill, NC for 25 years, retiring in 2019. He is the author of two cook books and served for six years on the board of the Southern Foodways Alliance. He is currently working on a kitchen memoir. He was born and raised in New Bern, NC.
