Witness the full life cycle of an apple pie in this hands-on workshop led by a trio of accomplished Asheville bakers. Learn about locally grown and milled grains, the historical significance of apples in Appalachia, and time-honored pie-making methods. Try your hand at mixing, rolling, lining, filling, and finishing from egg wash techniques to lattices and personalized designs. Finally, taste the fruits of all that labor and take home recipes and a pie-crust kit made with locally milled flour.
