Build your own cheese board, choosing from an array of local cheeses, charcuterie, and chef-made accoutrements and locally grown herbs and fruits. Strike the right balance of flavors and artful accents with the help of a trained sommelier and wine bar owner, who will also guide you through wine tastings that pair with your selections. Along the way, hear about the conservation efforts of the historic winery at Biltmore and gain insights on running a family farmstead creamery.

Logistical Details:

Cheesing Around is a fun, interactive, and educational experience hosted by Rustic Grape Wine Bar. Guests will be presented with several local cheeses, charcuterie, house made accoutrements and local farmer herbs and fruits to create their own cheese board. Rustic Grape’s owners, food creative Patty Wright and Sommelier Melissa Ward, will guide the guests in the balance of flavors and design to create their own tasty and artistic cheese and charcuterie board.

Each item for the boards will be thoughtfully chosen to pair with a selection of local and global wines offered for tasting along with each guest’s creation. By partnering with the Biltmore Estate Winery and Yellow Branch Farms creamery, the guests will be treated to a discussion/education of pairing wine and cheese, the story and process behind the Biltmore Estate Winery’s conservation efforts, and insights on what it is like to be a local family farmstead creamery in Western North Carolina.
