We understand that this is not a time for travel. Due to COVID-19, Asheville and Buncombe County have issued a Stay Home, Stay Safe ordinance, that bans all non-essential business and travel. There is also a quarantine rule for travelers from New York, California, Washington state and other hot spots. See here »

Business Updates

In accordance with a statewide order by North Carolina Governor, Roy Cooper, all non-essential Asheville businesses are closed to the general public. For the latest COVID-19 updates, please reference the North Carolina Department of Health and, more locally, the Buncombe County Department of Health. There you will find the latest guidance on essential travel and permissible pickup and delivery food service offerings.

What Can You Do?

While we cope with this extraordinary time, what we can all share is the creative and virtual ways that Asheville's community are staying vital and expressing themselves online and on social media. And please consider kind acts of support for local businesses and their employees such as #AshevilleStrong, the North Carolina Restaurant Workers Relief Fund, and by ordering takeout and delivery from restaurants working hard to responsibly serve those Staying Home and Staying Safe.

Cancellations and Closures

Due to federal, state, and local guidance, as well as responsible community action, many events, attractions, and retail businesses are cancelled or closed. In the true spirit of Asheville, many are beginning to offer creative ways to sell, entertain and connect virtually.
