Latest Updates and Travel Information

We are excited to safely welcome you to Asheville! Whether you are visiting us soon or planning ahead, it is our utmost priority to keep our visitors and community safe. Please be aware of the following guidelines and travel precautions currently in place to make your next trip to Asheville healthy and safe.

Travel Responsibly

As you prepare for your trip, please be aware of the current restrictions in place to help keep you and others safe:

  • Face Coverings: (Updated: 4/27/22) - Face coverings in public indoor spaces are no longer required; however, please be aware that individual businesses and organizations may continue to require masks at their own discretion. Thank you for respecting our local businesses and adhering to their individual policies.

    • The National Park Service, which includes the Blue Ridge Parkway and Great Smoky Mountains National Park, has issued a mask mandate for visitors and staff inside all NPS buildings, as well as outdoors in high traffic areas, such as narrow trails and overlooks. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!

    • Public health officials continue to strongly recommend that masks be worn in crowded indoor spaces.

  • Indoor dining is fully open; however, as restaurants and businesses begin to staff up, space may be limited. Please check ahead and make a reservation, if possible. Thank you for your patience!

  • Vaccination Status: Some Asheville-area businesses may require proof of vaccination for patrons, particularly restaurants that offer indoor dining. Please check ahead prior to your visit to understand each business' vaccine protocols and bring a copy of your vaccination card with you, just in case.

  • All capacity restrictions and social distancing requirements are lifted for restaurants, bars and meeting spaces in hotels. Some venues may continue to implement stronger restrictions on a case-by-case basis and unvaccinated people should continue to maintain social distance from others and wear face coverings.

Thank you for helping protect yourself and others while visiting Asheville!
