In nearby Brevard, Oskar Blues is hosting the second annual New Year's Eve Hootenanny.

At White Horse in Black Mountain, BJ Leiderman (of NPR theme music fame) will be ushering in the new year with his band and a line-up of local musicians and storytellers. Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band will be bringing in the funk at The Grey Eagle, and several venues and restaurants around town are offering live music, as well.
