Featuring The Blue Dogs with the New Familiars!

The Blue Dogs
The Charleston SC- based Blue Dogs entered into their 20th year as a band (est. 1987) playing and singing Americana/country-rock music nationwide. To be more specific, January 2008 marked 20 years sincestandup bassist Hank Futch joined forces with longtime friend, fellow cub scout, and acousticguitarist/vocalist Bobby Houck under the band name “Blue Dogs.” The band’s cds have received national airplay including reaching #1 in 2006 on XM Radio’s “X-Country” as well as landing on the “best of lists” for stations like WNCW.

“The road-seasoned band effectively straddles the line between loose rock swagger and radio-friendly hooks,” – Billboard Magazine

Over the years the band has performed on the same stage with such well-known and diverse artists as Willie Nelson, Widespread Panic, Bruce Hornsby, and Little Feat. They have also received national exposure by singing the national anthem at the final Southern 500 NASCAR race in Darlington SC in 2004, and in 2007 performing as the house band on a week’s worth of Wheel of Fortune shows. or more information on the Blue Dogs, please visit the band online at www.bluedogs.com.

The New Familiars
For Years now, Charlotte North Carolina's The New Familiars have been touring & playing their own style of American Rock & Roll wherever and whenever they can. Drawing from the vast influences that they've collected throughout their careers, this quartet has shaped a sound that combines the nitty-gritty roots music of the Appalachia with guitar-drenched-drum-driven anthems of Rock & Roll. Through collaborative songwriting, howling harmonies, & multi-instrumental talent, their show can take you from a back porch hoe-down to a full on rock show at the change of an instrument.
