PHOTOS: 2016 National Gingerbread House Competition Winners

The winners have been crowned in the 2016 National Gingerbread House Competition at the Omni Grove Park Inn.
Judges considered more than 150 entries from across the country which were all vying for a chance to win the grand prize of $8,500. Total prizes for all categories are valued at more than $22,000. To be eligible, the designs had to be made of at least 75 percent gingerbread. From there, judges evaluated the creations on overall appearance, originality/creativity, difficulty, precision, and consistency of theme.
Visitors can view all of the entries from Nov. 27 through Jan. 5 at the Omni Grove Park Inn. The display is open to the public Sunday afternoons after 3 p.m. through Thursdays, excluding holidays. and more information is available HERE.
This year's grand prize winner is Beatriz Müller of Innisfil, Ontario, Canada, for her "Dream House."

Adult 3rd Place - Linda Carney of Asheville, N.C.
Teen 1st Place - Courtland High School German Program of Spotsylvania, Va.
Youth 1st Place - Perry Pate of Hickory, N.C.
Child 1st Place - Team Edwards Workshop of China Grove, N.C.
