How Does Santa Do It?
Witness Santa's Pre-Holiday Workout in a Daring Rock Climb

Santa climbs Chimney Rock
In order to climb down (and back up!) millions of chimneys all across the world on Christmas Eve, Santa Claus has got to be in pretty good shape. How does he get to be so fit? Practicing, of course!

On Saturday, December 7 and 14 at Chimney Rock State Park, Santa will be climbing one of the world's largest natural chimneys in preparation for the big night.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., fearless St. Nick will descend from the top of Chimney Rock on a nearly 200-foot rappel about every 30-45 minutes, weather permitting. Kids are invited to sit on Santa’s lap for photo opportunities, meet Mrs. Claus, and enjoy holiday cookies, hot cocoa and kids’ activities. Each weekend, one lucky guest will win free two-hour rock climbing lessons for two with Santa’s professional helpers, Fox Mountain Guides.

Chimney Rock was recently named one of the 10 Best High Places in the World by USA Today!
