Foodtopian Egg Nog Recipe
From our friends at The Market Place restaurant and Lounge in downtown Asheville comes a fantastic foodtopian recipe that you can serve at your upcoming holiday parties.
Recipe yields 1 1/2 quarts
5 egg yolks
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup heavy cream
2 cups whole milk
1 1/4 cups quality bourbon or whiskey
1/4 cup spiced rum
pinch of salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. nutmeg + extra for garnish
1. Whisk the yolks with the sugar until it begins to dissolve.
2. Stir in the cream, milk, bourbon & rum to combine.
3. Stir in the vanilla and nutmeg. Chill thoroughly.
4. Serve in Old Fashion Glasses, chilled on the rocks with nutmeg as garnish
