Caleb Takes it Slow for Top 10 Performance
Still Time to Vote for Asheville's 'Idol' Contestant

Asheville-raised American Idol contestant Caleb Johnson changed up his tempo for last night's Top 10 performance, meeting with mixed reviews from the panel of celebrity judges.

Contestants were tasked with choosing a song from among Billboard Top 10 hits in recent years, and Caleb went with Lady Gaga's "Edge of Glory." He chose to perform it at a slower pace than the original, but didn't give up his signature rock-and-roll vocal style.

Despite ho-hum reviews from the judges, the show's studio audience responded to the performance with roaring applause and a standing ovation.

Caleb made it to the Idol stage this year after auditioning for two previous seasons. His selection as part of the Top 10 means that he will go on tour with other contestants this summer. The tour stops have yet to be announced, but we certainly hope to see one stop close to Caleb's hometown!

Fans of Caleb's Top 10 performance can still vote for him, through 1 p.m. ET time today, online at http://www.americanidol.com/vote. Check out his song below, cast your ballot, and tune in at 9 p.m. ET tonight for the results!

Let's go Caleb!
