Asheville's 'Idol' Competes Among Top 13
Local singer rocks out on Hollywood stage

Caleb Johnson performing with the Top 13
After two seasons of disappointed hopes, 22-year-old Asheville singer Caleb Johnson has caught the eyes--and ears--of the judges and made it into the Top 13 of this year's American Idol competition.

Caleb auditioned in 2010 and 2012, making it to Hollywood Week on his second try. Back home in Asheville, Caleb has performed with area rock bands, including Rock Bottom and Elijah Hooker.

In a meet-the-contestant segment for Idol, Caleb showed off his hometown and the local high school stage where he first got "bit by the singer bug."

Caleb closed out last night's show with his version of "Pressure in Time" by the band Rival Sons. His rockin' performance wowed judges, receiving standing ovations for Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban. Tune in to FOX tonight at 8 p.m. EST to cheer on Caleb as the results of this season's first vote roll in.
