We're counting down the days to New Year's Eve and the beginning of 2012, the year that has long been rumored to be the bringer of cataclysmic events to the world. In the event that the urban legend does indeed manifest itself, it's probably for the best that we ring in the year, our final New Year's Eve, with a PARTY! (hey, every moment counts right?)
Make your celebration memorable with these Asheville events ranging from black-tie soiree to come-as-you-are.
A New Year's Celebration at Grove Park Inn - You have your choice of two parties. One is their Classic New Year's party and the other is the Big Blast Party. Black-tie recommended. These events are open to the general public, but if you want to stay at the Inn see the special packages section below.
Tressa's Annual New Year's Eve Bash! - Free buffet, champagne toast at midnight and music by the Charles Walker band. The music is a mix of funk, R&B and spontaneity. Be sure to bring your dancing shoes!
Toubab Krewe - Playing at The Orange Peel, this Asheville-based instrumental powerhouse was described by Billboard Magazine as a band that "essentially created the intersection of West African traditional music and American rock." The jam starts at 10PM.
