Tai Qi and Chi Kung with Mark Small

Practicing Chi cultivation in a medium stance softly stretches your soft tissues, enhances skeletal alignment and balance, and enriches meditative breathing to boost concentration. These introductory sessions will focus on embodying the first of the eight classical internal principles—expanding energy (Peng Jin).
This is a donation-based class. No prior experience is required, and people of all ages are welcome. It is recommended to wear flat-soled shoes and loose clothing. Illustrated materials and a YouTube channel with instructional videos will support your practice between classes.
Doors open at 10:45am, class begins at 11am

About Mark Small
Mark first encountered tai chi chuan in 1958 while working as a child actor. For more than fifty years, he has refined his skills by learning from master teachers around the globe. He has spoken at National Chi Kung (Qigong) Association symposia, published articles in T’ai Chi and Qi Gong magazines, and written a book on Chinese health, sport, and self-defense practices. He lives in Black Mountain with his wife, Donalyn Small, and their teenage son, Haiden, and continues to lead workshops.
