The Blackbook: Sketching for all Skill Levels

About the Class:

Each class will be a group activity on the sacred art form of creating a sketch to inking true art pieces in your sketch books. Participants will be provided with pencils, watercolors, and other materials and guided through the start to finish process to bring their vision to life. Many great works have started as sketches in an artist's little black book...What will we create together? Bring passion, curiosity & imagination.

About the Facilitator:

Azrya David Bagwell is a self-taught multi-medium artist whose work blends animals, skeletons, feathers, geometric forms, and touches of neo-graffiti into a distinctive visual style. His preferred mediums include painting, sculpture, ink drawings, large scale murals, digital works, as well as dremmel wood carvings & stencil making. He has been creating and selling original artwork for over 10 years and has spent the last four years developing large-scale murals.

Azrya believes that the sketchbook is the single most important tool an artist can have—a place to explore ideas, experiment freely, and build confidence through consistent practice. His approach encourages creativity over perfection, helping students develop their own unique artistic voice.

He is excited to teach this Sketchbook course at the White Horse Community Hub and looks forward to creating an inspiring, relaxed, and fun environment where artists of all experience levels can learn, grow, and enjoy the creative process together.
