(Almost) April In Paris

(Almost) April in Paris will feature beloved French music ranging from classical masterworks and Edith Piaf gems to fresh arrangements of chanson réaliste standards.
Demeler is a café and salon music duo made up of husband and wife, Andy Jurik (guitar) and Rachel Hansbury (voice). Their music is inspired by their favorite spaces – coffeehouses, wine bars, cozy restaurants, and other places people congregate over art, great food or drink, and conversation. The duo blends their love of eclectic music (including many sounds from folk traditions and jazz) with their classical training for a refreshing blend of composed music, arrangements, and original material.
Rachel Hansbury is a vocal artist and educator based in Asheville, NC. She has performed as a soloist with chamber music groups including the Asheville Choral Society, Gateway Chamber Orchestra, and Music City Baroque, with whom Nashville Arts Now described her performance as “The highlight of the night…angelic, yet full of human emotion.” Passionate student of the human voice, Rachel maintains an active private studio of lessons, camps, and classes. She is a member of the voice faculty at UNC Asheville.
Guitarist, arranger, and educator Andy Jurik actively explores the intersection of classical and popular music. His debut recording strive was praised by Acoustic Guitar magazine (“A fine album from beginning to end”), Soundboard (“Each piece…is well done and eminently enjoyable”), and Minor 7th (“Highly recommended for all fans of classical, jazz, and acoustic music”). Andy directs the Asheville Classical Guitar Society and publishes arrangements for solo guitar with Fingerstyle Guitar Journal and Guitar Chamber Music Press.
