River Arts District
Asheville's River Arts District consists of a vast array of working artist studios and galleries set in an urban scene of old factories and historical buildings. Everywhere you turn, art abounds, with creativity happening around every corner. Many studios are open every day, all year round. Visitors are encouraged to explore artist studios and watch while they work, meet the artists and discuss the creative process, and collect original artwork from our 300+ local artists working in the RAD.
The River Arts District Artists work together each month for an exciting Second Saturday Art Stroll event. It’s a great way to spotlight the diverse types of art that one can find in The River Arts District, as well as educate visitors on some of the intricate techniques involved in each artist’s creative process. Shop, Eat and Explore The River Arts District every Second Saturday Art Stroll and discover a new favorite every time! Watch an artist as they weave a scarf, fire pottery, turn a wood bowl, or paint a portrait. Pick out some handmade jewelry to wear during your trip.
