- Appalachian Riverboard Company gets you IN the water instead of on it. Riverboarding is like bodyboarding meets whitewater on a board specifically designed for rapids. Riders wear a wetsuit, pads, and fins in addition to standard safety gear of a helmet and personal flotation device. Riverboarding allows you to feel the currents in a new way and has an easier learning curve than kayaking.
Instructional trips are on a short section of the French Broad river that is great for first time riverboarders. All gear needed for your adventure and a riverboard are included in Instruction.
Owner and guide, Kevin Yount has been riverboarding for over 20 years with over 15 years of experience instructing guests how to safely have a blast in the water. In addition to introducing people to riverboarding, we also build riverboards both for our guest fleet and for sale to those we want a riverboard of their own.
