Welcome to Xico (Shee-ko), a first of its kind ‘Cocina de Fuego’ and Marisqueria where bold Mexican flavors meet the soul of the Blue Ridge mountains.
Two friends and restaurant visionaries are bringing a one-of-a-kind, multi-sensory dining experience to the heart of Downtown Asheville. Acclaimed Chef and Cookbook Author, Scott Linquist, co-founder of Miami’s trendy taqueria and speakeasy COYO Taco is teaming up with Asheville restauranteur, Dave McFarland of Southern inspired restaurant and bar, Daddy Mac’s, are turning a long-envisioned dream to life.
Xico promises to ignite all senses surrounding their Cocina de Fuego’ (fire kitchen). Embark on an unforgettable journey where every flame and dish tell a story as old as the Aztecs. Flame-kissed fare will be cooked in a custom-built oven including locally sourced vegetables, meat and seafood including a Tiki-Xic prepared with an authentic Mayan technique.
Guests will be greeted by the smell of the flames from the open-fire kitchen, sounds from molcajetes smashing guacamole to order with views of tortilleros cooking fresh masa as they sizzle on a comal and Caesar Salads being tossed tableside from a cart parading through the dining room. The performance contributes by the bar with a “secret” tequila window inspired by European wine holes. To enhance the experience, a wide selection of tequila, mezcal will be available along with craft cocktails made with homemade bitters and seasonal ingredients honoring Mexican traditions and expressing innovation.
