• Susan Codega had been creating fiber art for years when she found the medium and technique of felting fibers. There just seemed like so much breadth and possibility; she fell head over heels in love. She has compared the process of felting with kneading bread, making pottery and Japanese dry sand gardening. The fiber community in the Asheville area is expansive, exciting and supportive. Each of her hand-felted piece is original and one of a kind. Oh! Did I also say -- made with love? Susan's second line are 100 % wool felt items designed and constructed with machine-made felt. This beautiful "designer felt" comes in incredible colors that Susan makes into rugs, handbags, and wall art. Susan Codega's work can be found at the Philip DeAngelo Gallery, and the Outpost Gallery in downtown Asheville at 24 N Lexington. The River Arts District is the epicenter of Asheville's nationally-recognized art scene.
