Wildflower Photography with Intention: Composition, Light, and Story with David

Apr 19, 2026
9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
  • Wildflower Photography with Intention: Composition, Light, and Story with David Huff $45.00

    Sunday, April 19 2026, 9:00am - 1:00pm

Meet at the ABG Visitor's Center (indoor and outdoor class)

This intermediate-level class is for photographers who are comfortable using their camera or phone and want to move beyond snapshots toward more expressive, deliberate images. We’ll explore composition in greater depth, work intentionally with light and shadow, and learn how to isolate subjects while honoring their natural setting. Participants will gain techniques for simplifying complex scenes, using foreground and background creatively, and making choices that support the story they want an image to tell. The emphasis is less on rules and more on developing a personal way of seeing that can be applied in any wildflower-rich landscape.

David Huff is a photographer, conservationist, and storyteller based in Asheville, North Carolina. His photography has appeared in Blue Ridge Outdoors, National Parks Traveler, Smoky Mountain Living, The Laurel of Asheville, and WNC Magazine, and his work has received awards from American Trails, Conserving Carolina, and Scenic America. David is the founder of the George Masa Foundation, which encourages young people to engage with and protect the natural world. His teaching emphasizes careful observation, patience, and developing a personal way of seeing in the landscape. www.davidhuffcreative.com.
