Square Basket Workshop

Have you always wanted to make your own woven basket? Or perhaps you’ve made some baskets but want to learn a new style? In this fun, half-day workshop, wilderness expert and accomplished basket maker Carleigh Fairchild will show you how to make a 9” x 9” x 4” square basket that’s both beautiful and practical. You will make your entire basket out of all-natural reed, using different sizes to add a pattern.

During the class, you’ll learn how to lay out a base, twine, do over-under weaving, upset the sides of the basket, and lash on a rim.

This lovely little basket is perfect for holding dinner rolls, napkins, and other holiday dining essentials—or pretty much any smallish item your imagination can think of!
