  • Trackside Studios in the River Arts District is hosting an auction of art salvaged after Hurricane Helene and art inspired by what we all went through individually and collectively. This auction acknowledges the 2-year milestone of Hurricane Helene, including the flooding of Trackside Studios, the creative home to 60 local artists. Net proceeds will be split evenly between the artist and BeLoved Asheville, a local non-profit organization that tirelessly supports community members, long before, during and since Helene.

The auction is online from September 1st at 9 am until September 14th at 6 pm. Auction pieces may be viewed in person at Trackside Studios, 375 Depot Street, Asheville, NC, daily from 11 am to 5 pm. The auction is online at https://givebutter.com/c/support-beloved-asheville-with-local-art-cls3d6

Many of the "survivor" art pieces have visible damage, demonstrating their endurance. Some pieces were created from materials that were salvaged from the mud after flood waters retreated. Each "inspired" piece carries a story too ... of artists digging deep within themselves to find the energy, courage and heart to move forward when so much around them is broken.

The stories for each piece are told by the artist on the auction site and on labels at the studio. Purchasing one of these survivors or inspired pieces will help support the creator plus countless community members in the Asheville area through the work of Beloved Asheville.
