Meet at the ABG Visitor's Center (Indoor and Outdoor Class)

    Class:

Bring the beauty of native plants indoors. In this hands-on class, flower farmer and floral designer Leonora Stefanile will introduce you to native species that shine in cut-flower arrangements—from standout blooms to the often-overlooked fillers that bring bouquets to life.

We’ll begin in the classroom with an overview of the best native plants for cutting, along with tips for harvesting, conditioning, and extending vase life. Then we'll watch Leonora demonstrate live bouquet-making.

After the demonstration, we’ll head out to see what’s growing in the Garden to highlight what’s in bloom in late July and share guidance on when and how to harvest for the best results.

Whether you’re a gardener, flower lover, or simply curious, you’ll leave inspired to grow and gather your own native bouquets.

    Instructor:

Leonora Stefanile is the manager of the Dr. John Wilson Community Garden in Black Mountain, NC where she and her team of staff and volunteers grow flowers and vegetables for Bounty & Soul's no-cost markets so that all in the community can enjoy the heart-lifting beauty of flowers along with nourishing, fresh produce. She is also the farmer/owner of Hummingbird Waltz Flowers, a small organic flower farm and florist based in Asheville, NC, where she and her team provide fresh and dried cut flower bouquets locally. Leonora also has a background in native plant landscaping, specializing in native wildflower pollinator gardens in residential settings.
