Mead the Maker: A Local Mead Tasting in Asheville

Oct 26, 2026
5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
  • Mondays are hard. Here's something worth leaving work early for.

We're bringing together some of our favorite local mead producers for an afternoon of exploration, casual snacking, and hanging out with the people behind the bottles.

Think industry-style tasting, open to the public: taste directly with local producers, discover new styles, and have the kind of conversations you usually only get at trade tastings.

    Meet the producers:
Alchemy Herbal Wine, Botanist & Barrel, Weirloom Meadery, Noble Mead, and more.

Expect 20+ samples and a wide range of honey wines, from traditional meads to cysers, pyments, hydromels, metheglins, and melomels. Ask questions, discover something new, and get a taste of what's happening in our local honey fermentation scene.

We'll have a spread of local cheese and charcuterie, snacks, and a selection of rare tinned fish for the seafood obsessed.
