Join a Buncombe County Master Gardener Docent to tour the Learning Garden and watch other gardeners caring for the plants. See beautiful and interesting plants, delicious vegetables, and native plants for beauty and pollinator interest. The tours will begin outside the front door of the Buncombe County Extension Office. The tour is free and registration is not necessary. In the event of steady rain in West Asheville, the workday and the tour will be canceled.
What Will I See When I Visit?
A visit to The Learning Garden affords you the opportunity to view the garden areas described below and to learn successful horticultural practices that lead to beautiful, healthy gardens. The Learning Garden at the Buncombe County Extension office consists of these individual areas: The Gateway Garden, The Rose Garden, The Cottage Garden, The Four Seasons Garden, The Dye Garden, The Vegetable Garden, The Pollinator Garden, The Sun and Shade Garden, and The Composting Area. In addition, the complex has about two miles of walking trails.
