Blending jazz with each artist’s unique voice, the evening weaves original compositions with a curated selection of their personal influences and favorite tunes.

Anchored by one of the region’s most in-demand drummers, Composer’s Room offers a rare glimpse inside the creative process, where collaboration, experimentation, and storytelling take center stage.

October Featured Artist:

Joseph Marino is a multi-instrumentalist and composer originally from the greater Philadelphia area. Though professionally trained as a Jazz bassist, he has spent the last several years exploring musical traditions of Europe, Ireland, and Scandinavia. Now spending most of his time on the flute and other traditional woodwinds, Joseph has directed his passion for world history and human culture towards creating music that encourages unity and commonality between peoples. He believes that all humans share a deep love for music, dance, and storytelling, and that shared musical experience can connect disparate people to their shared humanness.

Joseph’s music takes the listener on a journey through diverse styles while preserving a musical personality completely his own.
