Gardening in the Mountains presents: Practical Pollinator Habitats

May 21, 2026
10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
  • Presenter: Meghan Baker, Small Farms Agent, NC Cooperative Extension

How can home gardeners support pollinators in ways that are both effective and easy to maintain?

Join horticultural professional Meghan Baker for a practical look at creating pollinator refuges in home and garden landscapes. Learn how to select plants that support pollinators, maintain gardens in ways that align with pollinator biology, and recognize some of the bees, butterflies, and other pollinators you may see in your garden. You’ll also explore the natural history of a few key species and how thoughtful garden design can help them thrive. Whether you’re starting from scratch or refining an existing garden, you’ll come away with ideas for making your landscape more welcoming to pollinators.

Registration: The talk is free but registration, using Eventbrite is required. Please use the link below to register. If you encounter problems registering or if you have questions, call 828-255-5522
