Old Sap is a songster who plays the long range and tradition of Americana—folk, blues, country, jazz, rock, indie. Sap connects to the roots of the banjo by exploring its history and potential as a rhythmic-melodic instrument. With a stompbox to solidify the beat, it’s a full-band experience in a solo act.

He also plays plenty of familiar tunes—John Prine, the Avett Brothers, Irish trad, Tom Waits, My Morning Jacket, Bon Iver, Talking Heads—weaving these through hours of original songs, stories, & poems.

Whether playing solo, with sparse accompaniment or a full band, Old Sap brings a time-machine party full of rhythm, humor, poetry, & catharsis.
