Free Art Reception: "Woodlands" by Carol Fetty

The Asheville Gallery of Art is pleased to present a new exhibition titled "Woodlands," featuring an intimate grouping of paintings by artist Carol Fetty. An opening reception, offering an opportunity to meet the artist, will take place on Friday, April 10, from 5:00 to 7:30 pm.

In this exquisite collection Fetty uses inks, spray paint and oils to explore stillness as an expression of strength in 11 paintings. Each work centers on a singular presence and is often floral, often solitary, set within softly layered atmospheric spaces causing the viewer to experience an emotional response and sense of remembrance. These works invite a slower way of looking, asking the viewer to linger and listen. Subtle gestures, softened edges, and layered marks reveal traces of time and care, suggesting growth, protection, and the quiet wisdom found in solitude and reflection.
