This dance’s intention: Get Down in the Field

There’s evidence that before humans could speak, we made music. Since we have walked the earth, we have likely danced. We dance together to share community, to alchemically transmute our internal experiences, to celebrate, to mourn, to communicate, and to simply enjoy the sensation of music moving through our bodies. In the sharing of this practice, we sometimes experience a deep connection to the room of dancers, even a sense of Oneness in which the tight hold that wraps around our individual ego begins to loosen and we feel the entirety of the Collective Field. We marvel at the variation of forms and unique movements that are aspects of the one great orchestration of the universe and recognize that I am that and that is me. This dance is an invitation to shift our internal lenses to the widest aperture and focus our awareness of the Collective Field.

Sara’s mix-making arises from musical exploration. She seeks to understand energy through somatic responses to sonic vibrations. Her facilitation is propelled by a desire to help build and sustain community by creating a safe, loving container for self-expression, connection and release.
