Ecstatic Dance Wave - Ensemble: Within and Beyond... w/ CJ O'Reilly (DJ SeigeA)

Come get your dance on in a meditative, freeform movement container. Dance by yourself or with others to a curated multi-genre musical journey. Please read our https://ashevillemovementcollective.org/dance/our-dance-guidelines/

Arrive before the opening circle.

This dance’s intention: Ensemble: Within and Beyond...

Your first dance partner is yourself.
The second is the floor.
But between those two; an infinite array of partners:
your body - its joints, tendons, muscles...
your mind - its thoughts, memories, imaginings...

And beyond that, the music... another dancer... Third... fourth.. beyond!

Start from that first... work with each partner... listen deeply, and find your way to an integrated ensemble.

About the Facilitator: CJ O’Reilly (DJ SeigeA)

CJ O'Reilly has been creating ecstatic dance waves for the Asheville community since 2014. Their eclectic mix of musical styles beckons dancers into new patterns of movement and expression through diverse time signatures and instrumentation, and a wide range of musical and emotive qualities. CJ's waves explore high peaks, beautiful vistas, juicy lowlands and the profound reflective stillness of tranquil water. CJ's dance waves are pre-produced and refined through the body and ears of a dancer and audiophile.
