Directing in Pre-Production: Creating, Honing, & Communicating Your Vision

You've got your script together, your producer on board, and you're assembling a great team to shoot your film, but how do you communicate your vision? Where do you begin when analyzing a script in order to discuss symbolism, look/feel, and motif and how do you tell your team what you need? Where is your place in all of it the work that happens before the camera rolls?

In this workshop we will take apart a general script, discuss the importance of using symbolism and precisely how to do it, create individual visions, and learn how to communicate these to each member of the creative team, from production designer to talent, Production Day 1. You'll leave with tools for discussion, communication, actor meetings, fielding questions, storyboarding, shotlisting, and more.
