  • RiverLink is launching our inaugural “Creek Week” July 6-11, a Buncombe county-wide celebration of stewardship and advocacy of our local waterways.

Through ten diverse partnerships, Creek Week offers eight events to engage our community in collective action, education, and creative activities throughout our watershed.

Join us at one or many of these events to deepen your relationship with the French Broad River and local streams, take action to protect clean water, and contribute to ongoing conservation and restoration efforts!

Activities for all ages include: creek and river cleanups ending with live music, exploration of local ecology on educational hikes and paddle trips, a children’s field day by the lake, an artist-led river cane art and conservation event, and opportunities to engage one-on-one with organizations leading Helene recovery.

Partners include: Buncombe County Environmental Educators & Library Staff, the City of Asheville, MountainTrue, Asheville Greenworks, Hemlock Restoration Initiative, Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy, French Broad River Brewery, New Belgium, Sketchbook Club, and the North Carolina Arboretum.
