Closing Reception - Art Earth and Soul Kollective

Join us at the YMI Cultural Center as we gather for the closing reception of Art Earth and Soul Kollective, a multi-disciplinary exhibition exploring history, community, belief, and imagination — and how they shape our sense of place and belonging.

Developed over several years, Art Earth and Soul Kollective grew from a collaborative inquiry between theologians, pastors, and artists examining the intersections of race, space, and faith in American life. What began as research evolved into an immersive artistic experience that invites reflection on embodiment, ritual, memory, power, and the everyday realities of community.

Rather than offering answers, the exhibition holds space for tension — around displacement, gentrification, resilience, and the complicated role institutions play in both nurturing and limiting belonging. Through visual, sonic, spatial, and narrative works, artists center lived experience and cultural traditions across urban and rural landscapes.

The closing reception offers a final opportunity to experience the exhibition, connect with fellow attendees, and reflect together before the show comes down. Expect a welcoming atmosphere, conversation, and space to take it all in one last time
