Adult Studio: Figure Drawing

  • TWO DAY STUDIO—Saturdays, September 27 and October 4

    For centuries, artists have perfected their skills for capturing the human form by sketching from a live model. In this small group workshop, you will learn the basic steps to draw a figure and improve your ability to create good compositions. Participants of all experience levels can benefit from the opportunity to sketch from a live model as well as from artworks in the Museum’s Collection. Please note that the live model will be posing nude. All materials are included.

    ABOUT THE TEACHING ARTIST

    Born and raised in British Columbia, Canada, Nick Raynolds studied art in Vancouver, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Düsseldorf, Germany, and holds a Master of Fine Arts from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee. He has exhibited his work nationally and abroad and has taught at numerous private and public institutions including at the National Academy of Design New York City, The Art Students League of New York, and University of North Carolina Asheville. Raynolds has worked widely in the art industry in various capacities including as an assistant to internationally acclaimed artist Jeff Koons.
