Asheville is pleased to be named the host city in the mainland move of the 2020 Camping World Maui Invitational. The tournament receives national coverage each year by the ESPN family of networks and is considered one of the premier early season college baseketball tournaments. The tournament will take place November 30-December 2, 2020.

Those involved in the tournament – teams, staff, officials and ESPN media – will be in a bubble environment that limits their movement and interaction outside the venue. The invitational will follow North Carolina guidelines on mass gatherings. There will be no public sale of tickets available for fans.

However, T-shirts are available to commemorate the tournament's first mainland event.

Teams expected to participate are Alabama, Davidson, Indiana, North Carolina, Providence, Stanford, Texas and UNLV.

In recent years, Asheville has landed such quality athletic competitions as the Fed Cup by BNP Paribas (with both Serena and Venus Williams on the Team USA roster), the Southern Conference and Big South Basketball Championships, iconic outdoor events like Haute Route and Spartan Race, as well as extreme trail races such as the Black Mountain Marathon and Mount Mitchell Challenge.

The 2020 Camping World Maui Invitational will take place November 30-December 2, 2020 at the Harrah’s Cherokee Center - Asheville in downtown Asheville, North Carolina.

The following teams will compete in the 2020 Camping World Maui Invitational: Alabama, Davidson, Indiana, North Carolina, Providence, Stanford, Texas and UNLV.

Will tickets be sold to the public for the 2020 Camping World Maui Invitational in Asheville?+

The tournament will follow North Carolina guidelines on mass gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There will be no fans in attendance.

What health precautions are being taken with the players, team staff, tournament staff/officials and ESPN media?+

Players, team staff from each of the eight institutions, tournament officials/staff and members of the media will be tested before and during the event. The tournament is committed to following health guidelines set forth by the state of North Carolina, local government and the NCAA.

Will the visiting players, team/tournament staff and media be out in the Asheville community before and during the 2020 Camping World Maui Invitational?+

No. The players, staff and others participating in the event will be housed in a “bubble” environment in Asheville. In other words, all the people associated with the tournament will be isolated from the community. They will only leave the “bubble” for games at the Harrah’s Cherokee Center - Asheville. They will not be visiting restaurants, shops or attractions.
