Also, the drive to Chimney Park/Lake Lure on Route 74 is beautiful, and then toward Hendersonville on Route 64. "We like to go on South 276 out of Waynesville, and continue on 276 to the Blue Ridge Parkway, which we'll go on for a few miles for the views, then back on 276 to Brevard, then Brevard to Highlands, and on down to Franklin, then back to Waynesville on Hwy. 23.
