"The Little Dog Laughed"
Yes, we love the cinema for its great auteurs, its glorious faces and its daring images. But in this tabloid age where big stars go on Oprah and jump around like heartsick schoolboys, what we really love is all that dish! "Narnia" Based on C.S. Lewis' The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe
The most famous story of the Chronicles of Narnia has become a musical! Narnia is an enchanted world filled with creatures and spirits of myth and fable, who are both good and evil, demonic and transcendent. The principal inhabitants are the intelligent talking animals ruled by the majestic King Aslan, the great lion of Narnia. Though Aslan is often absent from the land (so that his very existence is doubted by some), he returns when the need for him is greatest. And entering Narnia at a moment of high adventure are some children—plucked from our world to help Narnia who learn lessons of courage, unselfishness and wisdom along the way. The perfect show for the entire family!

Kathryn Stockett- A Novel of Race and Relationships
Kathryn Stockett will read from and sign her debut novel, The Help, a story of 3 extraordinary women who defy the barriers of small-town life. “Set in the rural South of the 1960's, The Help is a startling, resonant portrait of the intertwined lives of women on opposite sides of the racial divide. Stockett's many gifts - a keen eye for character, a wicked sense of humor, the perfect timing of a natural born storyteller- - shine as she evokes a time and place when black women were expected to help raise white babies, and yet could not use the same bathroom as their employers. Her characters, both white and black, are so fully fleshed they practically breathe - no stock villains or pious heroines here. I'm becoming an evangelist for The Help. Don't miss this wise and astonishing debut." --Joshilyn Jackson, bestselling author of Gods in Alabama

Masterworks Concert 5 - Czech This Ot
Bohemia, now part of the modern-day Czech Republic, continues to this day to be a hotbed of musical excellence, with an impressive array of performers and composers who have left a lasting mark on our musical heritage. All three of our works in March celebrate these Bohemian roots. Mozart’s regal and vibrant “Prague” Symphony was dedicated to the citizens who adopted him as their own. We will also continue to honor our talented musicians from within the ranks of the ASO with our principal oboist, Alicia Chapman, performing Martinu’s inventive and surprising Oboe Concerto. The evening culminates in three evocative tone poems based on Bohemia’s beauty and mystery. The high castle overlooking Prague, the beautiful Danube River, and a Bohemian legend are all parts of Smetana’s proud musical testament to his homeland, Má Vlast.

Sound Tribe Sector 9
STS9 thrives on friction. This may be surprising coming from five musicians who think of themselves as a collective as much as a band. But consider the title of the California-based outfit's long-awaited fourth album: Peaceblaster. The two words rub against each other to create an image that is simultaneously utopian and violent, fraught with the very contradiction that permeates America circa now.
