Asheville Artisan Bread Bakers' Festival

Sponsored by 15 local, artisan bakeries, this festival is a celebration of the art and craft of bread baking. In the morning the 'bakers showcase' attendees can sample bread from all the bakeries and talk to the bakers. The afternoon features hands-on workshops, lectures, and demonstrations of all aspects of bread baking.

25th Annual Festival of Flowers

More than 100,000 tulips will herald the start of Biltmore’s 25th Annual Festival of Flowers on April 3. Through May 16, the stunning floral displays across the estate celebrate the majesty of Frederick Law Olmsted’s legacy. Floral décor will focus on iris, fleur de lis and silver, all symbolic of the 25th anniversary. Expect live music daily in the Winter Garden in Biltmore House and the Conservatory, and daily seminars at A Gardener’s Place. Biltmore’s restaurants will feature special silver anniversary menu items, drinks and desserts, with the Winery offering a commemorative Festival of Flowers wine, wine programs and children’s activities on Saturdays and Sundays.

Biltmore Annual Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter Rabbit makes his annual appearance on Biltmore’s Front Lawn on Easter Sunday, along with special children’s entertainment including magic shows, music, storytelling, crafts and photos with the Easter Rabbit. Highlighting the day are the grand Easter Egg Hunts at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Children ages 9 years old and younger may attend the hunt for free when accompanied by an estate pass holder or a ticketed adult. Day-of registration will be required. Bring your own basket or bag to collect eggs!

Asheville HATCHfest

Asheville HATCHfest will celebrate creative artists, with events being held in prime downtown locations including Asheville Area Arts Council (front gallery), Echo Mountain Studios, Fine Arts Theatre, Pack Place and The Orange Peel. Film screenings, concerts and exhibits from groundbreaking artists from around the world will occupy these venues. HATCHfest’s mission is to encourage economic development through mentorship, educational panels and labs. All educational events will be free to the general public.

2010 French Broad River Festival

This annual festival has grown steadily from a one night benefit party on the banks of the French Broad to an all weekend family festival featuring some of the best music in the area and a number of outdoor events in celebration of this beautiful river and setting. The 13th annual festival is set for April 30 – May 2, 2019 where the French Broad River meets the Appalachian Trail at the beautiful Hot Springs Campground & Spa (www.camp.nchotsprings.com ). 7th Annual Montford Music and Arts Festival

The annual Montford Music and Art Festival will take place in the NPS-designated Montford Area Historic District on May 15. The festival celebrates the rich musical and artistic heritage found in Montford, Asheville, and the region with approximately 4,000 annual attendees. All musical acts have some connection to Montford and a number of the vendors do as well. The festival is promoted in celebration of Preservation Month by the Buncombe County Historic Resources Commission.

Mountain Dance & Folk Festival
