Botanical Gardens at Asheville

This 10-acre nonprofit nature preserve (next to UNCA) is dedicated to preserving and displaying the native flora of the Southern Appalachians. Garden-themed gift shop. Donations welcome.

Directions:

From downtown Asheville: Take Merrimon Ave. north to W.T. Weaver Blvd. Turn left. Go past the entrance to UNC-Asheville, and the BGA is on the right at 151 W.T. Weaver Blvd.; or take I-26/US 19-23 North (Future I-26 West) to the UNC-Asheville exit 25. Turn right onto Broadway and left at the second traffic light onto W.T. Weaver Blvd. The entrance to the Gardens is the first driveway on the left.

Cost: No admission fee.

Times/Hours: Open daily dawn to dusk. Garden Path Giftshop open 10:00 a.m. to 4 p.m.
