Hiking the mountains of Western North Carolina

Located near Hendersonville & Brevard, Dupont State Forest is 7,600 acres of forested land and has over ninety miles of trails for hiking, biking and even horseback riding on designated trails, which range from very easy to very challenging. Their trails combine a wonderful blend of incredible scenery, varied hiking levels and unbelievable waterfalls.

Directions from Asheville

  1. Get on I-240 W.
  2. Continue on I-26 E.
  3. Take exit 40 and turn right onto 280 W.
  4. After 4.7 miles, 280 W becomes 191 S.
  5. Turn right on School House Rd.
  6. Immediately bear left at Ladson Rd.
  7. After you cross a river, take a right on 64 W.
  8. After 7.4 miles, take a left on Crab Creek Rd.
  9. Take a right on Dupont Rd after 4.3 miles.
