Hiking the mountains of Western North Carolina

This is an ideal trail to enjoy magnificent views of amazing waterfalls. Located in the Deep Creek portion of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, this 4.4-mile loop features Tom Branch Falls and Indian Creek Falls. The trail begins at the Deep Creek trailhead and is easily identified by the red gate and small footpath just off the gravel parking lot.

Directions from Asheville

  1. Get on I-240 W.
  2. Take exit 31B and continue on I-40 W for 18.3 miles.
  3. Take exit 27 for the Great Smoky Mountains Expressway.
  4. Take exit 103 and continue on 19 S for 33.4 miles.
  5. Turn right on E Deep Creek Rd, continue for 2 miles.
