Growing up in North Carolina gave John Stehling, of the Early Girl Eatery, a deep appreciation for Southern food traditions, but after working for years in restaurants throughout the U.S. the siren song of Asheville finally pulled him home. Upon arriving, he found an expansive culinary scene that was quickly attracting the best and brightest chefs from around the country.
