Day 1
After winter’s cold grip, rejuvenate with fresh mountain air and vibrant gardens. Begin with a visit to Biltmore during the Festival of Flowers event. The estate comes alive with colors from tulips to azaleas in the gardens designed by Frederick Law Olmstead. Your visit also includes stops at the 250-room Biltmore house, River Bend Farm and the winery.
Continue your adventure with a scenic drive to Chimney Rock State Park where you can reconnect with nature. The park offers hiking trails for all ages and skills, a 404-foot waterfall, and spectacular 75-mile views from Chimney Rock. Finish your day with a catered cookout in the Meadows.
Day 2
Kick-start the morning with a stop at the Western North Carolina Farmers Market where you’ll find local mountain crafts and regional fruits and vegetables. From the Market, it’s just a short drive to the beautiful North Carolina Arboretum, site of a 434-acre public garden. Enjoy a self-guided garden tour of native plants, a bonsai garden and more. A delightful box lunch can be catered.
Spend the afternoon as you like, whether it’s shopping at B. B. Barns, a seven-acre English garden destination center that stocks some of the flora found at NC Arboretum, or visiting a garden-related handmade crafts shop. Conclude your day in the quaint town of Black Mountain with a delectable family-style dinner at the Red Rocker Café or a Murder Mystery Dinner at the Monte Vista Hotel in Black Mountain.
