Grove Park Inn Golf | First opened for play in 1899, then redesigned in 1924 by master golf course architect Donald Ross, the 6,700 yard, par 70 layout is a shotmaker's challenge with emphasis on accuracy rather than power. After a recent $2.5 million refurbishment, Golf Digest ranked the course 4 out of 5 stars and listed the course as one of the 10 Best Courses in the U.S. that is 100 years old or more. It is the closest golf course to the Asheville Renaissance. A special $69.00 MPI-CC rate has been arranged that includes shuttle service provided by Accents on Asheville and Deb Bowman. The shuttle leaves Asheville Renaissance at 12:15pm with tee times starting at 12:40pm. Space is very limited. Please call or e-mail Terry Bemis at 866-474-1992 or tbemis@groveparkinn.com to confirm your tee-time and your seat on the shuttle. |

Today, more than 100 working artists have set up shop in the River Arts District. Many of these studios are open on a regular basis. Their "River Arts District" signs are easy to spot along the small triangle of streets and avenues with road names such as Clingman, Depot, Haywood, Lyman, Riverside and Roberts.
