The gates of the 500-acre Taylor ranch open to the public for the first time to partner with Mission Hospital and raise funds for local cancer care; a portion of the proceeds benefits Mission Hospital's Breast Care Program. Every weekend in October 2012 - family, fundraising and fall themed fun, come together at the Taylor Ranch for North Carolina's first ever 6-acre Pink Cornmaze (‘til dusk) and Haunted Mountain Trail (opens at dusk). The festival atmosphere also includes an old fashioned game field with corn jumps, sack races and more, a kids maze, music by the lake, games, food, themed weekends, a wide range of entertainment combining "green" education, outdoor recreation, farm conservation and down home fun. "Local" begins at home: locally grown corn, music, beef & beer benefit local families and local cancer care.
