What happened? As a child, life was all about playing. It was about enjoying and reveling in the simple things: a delicious scoop of ice cream, climbing a tree just to feel tall, creating something magical with a paintbrush. Get older, and that inner child gets pushed further and further away.
Rediscover that old friend in Asheville, where you can indulge in a five day recess to just play. Turn off your cell phone, forget about that nagging stack of mail, forget about next month's presentation at the office.
After you've spent five days doing nothing but pursuing fun, you will be recharged, relaxed and happy... and that much more productive at work.
Five Days to Find Your Inner Child |
| Day 1 - Ice Cream and People Watching Years ago, hearing the mere distant, muffled chime from an ice cream truck would make you stop everything. Take a flash back to those innocent and indulgent days by enjoying some ice cream at one of the numerous parlors in the Asheville area. Kamm's Custard Shop serves authentic frozen custard made fresh throughout the day, and they can make a custom flavor. It's located in the Grove Arcade, a great place to sit back and people-watch. |
| Day 2 - Go Down a Natural Slide When's the last time you went down a slide and felt the rush of wind in your hair? It's probably been too long. Take sliding to a whole new level by hitting Sliding Rock, a Natural Water Slide. This 60-foot natural water slide down a well-worn slab of rock was providing summertime entertainment long before water slides became standard fare. |

Day 3 - Take a Field Trip |
|
Day 4 - Arts and Crafts Time As one of the premier arts destinations in the Southeast, there are hundreds of galleries in the Asheville area. There are also several places where you can create your own works of art. Hit the Fired Up! Creative Lounge and Art Boutique and craft your own pottery which is fired for you to take home as a fun souvenir. |
| Day 5 - Climb Up Climbing a tree was the ultimate way to take charge as a kid. Now that you're an adult, get that rush again but on a grown-up scale. You can practice on the climbing wall at ClimbMax Climbing Center and Guide Service, or join them on a rock climbing excursion. You can also visit Chimney Rock Park for some rock climbing. |
