Asheville author and Wordfest Director Laura Hope-Gill and local photographer John Fletcher, Jr. will share their new book, The Soul Tree: Poems and Photographs of the Southern Appalachians. Fletcher’s photography beautifully compliments Hope-Gill’s poems and reinforces the vision of poetry as a conversation between inner and outer worlds. Laura Hope-Gill, who is also the marketing director for Grateful Steps Publishing, is an avid proponent of poetic therapy and works to illustrate poetry’s relevance in everyday life.
